As we move through life, we should care less about taking it seriously. You only have one life to live, so why make it stressful? Of course there are things that happen to us that are out of our control. The things we can control, however, we should make as enjoyable as possible. Doing little things like dressing up in your favorite pair of shorts, or taking extra time in nature during the week, are sure to make your day better. In 15 years no one will remember the time you fell down the front steps at school, or when you forgot to take that coffee cup off of your car roof before you drove off. Don’t sweat the small stuff!
Every weekend I have off, I like to spend time with friends and family doing things we all enjoy. This past weekend I met up with old and new friends to take the town by storm, visiting every cute shop we could and spreading joy to all the people whose paths we crossed. Our trip led us to places such as our favorite local donut shop, which seriously has the cutest and tastiest donuts in the surrounding area, and a local vintage “flea market” type shop. We had a lot of fun and made a lot of memories that will last a lifetime.
Whether you know it or not, everyone dresses according to their mood that day. Today’s fashionista really exemplifies that. She has a very bubbly personality, with an edge to match. The top this fashionista is wearing is a favorite of mine. Not only does it match the weather with short sleeves, but it also makes a big statement with the low cut neckline and front zipper. It’s a top in which not everyone may feel comfortable, but is a rewarding fashion choice for those who dare to take the leap.
The words I type may not be able to do these shorts justice, but I’m going to try, because when I saw these shorts I instantly fell in love. They are something I could definitely see myself wearing. Much like the top these shorts are paired with, they’re really a statement piece. And because they’re paired with a neutral colored top, they command all of the attention. These shorts were beautifully adorned with glitter. And like anything that sports glitter, a little bit of it was left behind everywhere we went. Honestly though, who doesn’t need a bit of glitter in their lives?
Although this fashionista started the day with her favorite pair of boots, she later swapped them out for her favorite pair of skates. Roller derby is one of her passions, so getting a picture of these beauties was a must! I want to add the color of these skates to my mood board, because I often find myself coming back it. It’s a color that would really compliment my almost all black wardrobe, and totally compliments this outfit. And you can never go wrong with sparkly bows and cheetah-print anything.
So, what’s your favorite statement piece? Is it something you wear all year round or something that only comes out when the mood is right? Let me know in the comments below!
