There’s nothing wrong with getting a bit trendy every now and then. I even have a few garments in my closet which, while once not considered trendy, now are in style. That’s the beauty of fashion. One day your favorite skirt is just that. The next day it’s in all of the local retailers. You can’t avoid trends because you’ll inevitably be a part of one, whether you intended to or not. So, if you’re like me and aren’t a trendy person, embrace the waves when they come. You can always get off the ride at any time and go back to your own fashion path. Life is too short to stress out over little things!
Up until a few months ago, I had absolutely no interest in wearing dresses. They never really flattered me and I wasn’t a big fan of the way I looked in them, but I definitely wasn’t looking at the right ones. These days, I own at least four dresses and will rock them in total ignorance of the weather. You just can’t get me out of them. This pink dress is very trendy and surprisingly comfortable. The cutesy, pastel colors of the print work with the rest of the dress and make you stand out. Plus, since the weather is getting warmer, I’ll soon be able to wear this without tights!
When I bought all of these garments, with the exception of the choker, I wasn’t planning on putting them together. I just liked the way they looked, so I bought them. However, when I was putting these and a few other things away, I noticed how great these looked next to each other. I tried them on and was in love! I’m all about comfortability and function, two things these shoes hit right on the head. They’re not pictured here, but there are actually two more colors of puff balls that came with the shoes, so you can really make these work with just about any outfit. You can also mix and match to really make a statement. The other thing I like about these shoes is that they make me look severely tall, and who doesn’t want that? (Maybe really tall people?)
Chokers, in my opinion, are on their way out of the trend scene. It took me so long to actually buy one, that I’m wishing I did it sooner. This is why I said buying trendy pieces isn’t necessarily a bad thing. You never really know how you’ll feel about something until you try it out. Honestly, I’m trying my hardest prioritize accessories lately, because they really do enhance an outfit with little effort. In addition, you always have the option to take the accessory off at any moment if you feel the need.
So, how do you feel about trends? Do you follow them actively? Or do you just go with the flow? Let me know in the comments below!
